About the Award
The Distinguished Engineer Award aims to encourage Bahraini engineers to innovate and be creative in the engineering field.
Award Categories
- Young Engineer Award (7 to 15 years of experience)
- Experienced Engineer Award (More than 15 years of experience)
Award Benefits
Winners in each category of the Distinguished Engineer Award will receive:
- A commemorative shield
- A souvenir gift
- A certificate of appreciation
General Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be of Bahraini nationality
- Have provided outstanding and valuable services to the profession and the community
- Hold a valid membership in the Bahrain Society of Engineers (Affiliate / Active / Fellow)
- Not be a member of the current Board of Directors, the Award Committee, or the Judging Panel
- Submit their application within the designated timeframe
Specific Criteria by Category
1. Young Engineer Category
- Must have 7 to 15 years of practical experience in any engineering field
- Must have made significant contributions in their area of specialization within their workplace
- Or have presented innovative ideas to their organization in areas such as design, execution, cost reduction, quality improvement, project management, or other professional domains
- Or have contributed to a project within their organization, either individually or as part of a team, which received an award or recognition
2. Experienced Engineer Category
- Must have more than 15 years of practical experience in any engineering field
- Must have made significant contributions in their area of specialization within their workplace
- Or have presented innovative ideas to their organization in areas such as design, execution, cost reduction, quality improvement, project management, or engineering education and training
- Or have contributed to a project within their organization, either individually or as part of a team, which received an award or recognition
- Or have contributed to the training and development of young engineers
- Or have held a leadership position and made notable contributions in both administrative and technical fields
- Previous applicants may reapply for the award if they meet the criteria and conditions

General Notice
Application shall be ruled out in case that:
- They do not abide by the objectives, conditions, regulations and contents of the nomination file and the application guide.
- They are sent beyond the deadline.
- Arbiters find out that provided information or mentioned achievements are faked by the applicant.

Required Documents
- Each nominee should provide correct and valid details, documents and evidences, included wholly into the nomination file.
- Nomination files should include all the documents, fees, details and evidences that support the nominee for the awards, as well as the names of work contributors, their CVs and previous experience in such subjects.
- The applicant should provide an acknowledgment that the file was not submitted to any other competition.
- No models should be provided; rather, their photographs or scans are allowed.
